Monochrome Tests

So with this week's post I wasn't really looking to get any coherent theme or whatever, I kinda just went shooting just to shoot. I was using the X-Pro1 with the 28mm again, just trying to get good with this combo. So trying not to make this a picture dump post, I wanted to practice making a monochrome Adobe Lightroom preset. My main goal was to get something really striking and punchy, and I think i did well. First couple shots are pretty much the "street photography" style that I shoot. I shot during the afternoon in direct sunlight and the last photo at a fair. Definitely a pretty punchy monochrome look, I feel like this look would do well when I'm shooting events or taking pictures of individuals in a crowd. Carp Fair

This is the first real post with the X-Pro1. My time with it so far has been very so so. I like the shooting experience with the camera and I do like the form factor and rangefinder style of the camera, but I think what's keeping me from liking the camera is the lens that I have. Fujifilm X-Pro1  - Starblitz Auto 28mm f1.8 Fujifilm X-Pro1  - Starblitz Auto 28mm f1.8 The lens that I got on the camera is a Starblitz Auto 28mm f1.8 for Minolta MD film cameras. I do like the lens, it feels pretty good but the focal length isn't there for me I think. That or because it's a bit more difficult to use manual/vintage lenses on this form factor. Fujifilm X-Pro1  - Starblitz Auto 28mm f1.8 Fujifilm X-Pro1  - Starblitz Auto 28mm f1.8 Even though I'm not a fan of the focal length of this lens. I will continue to use it more and more until I get used to using it. I really want to get better at using the older manual/vintage lenses on this camera, it's a lot of fun, regardless if ...

Testing the X-Pro1

So I recently bought my first mirrorless camera, it's a bit old by todays standards but who cares, I mainly use older tech anyways. I bought the classic, Fujifilm X-Pro1! I've been looking at fuji cameras ever since I got my Fuji S1Pro, so I pulled the trigger and bought the X-Pro. It's been a pretty fun first week of getting the settings down and feeling my way through the camera, but I seemed to have got stuff dialed in. So for this series of pictures, I'm gonna show off some of the pics from my test shoots this week when I went up to the bay area for a couple days top visit my family. The lens I paired my the X-Pro1 is a Starblitz Auto 28mm F1.8 for Minolta MD mounts with an MD to Fuji X adapter. The pictures i shot were JPEGs with one of my lightroom presets I use. Hope you guys enjoy.
