Pre-game X-Games

 So the X-Games is going on in Ventura, CA this year so I thought this would be the best chance to get some pics of people in downtown Ventura because it will be so lively. I went down with my homie Jakob on Thursday because a local skate shop was holding a "Junk Jam" right in the center of downtown Ventura. There was hella people there watching the locals and some professionals rip down the hill in front of the city hall where a bunch of obstacles were set up. They had ramps, flat rails, a stage with a couple stair sets and a hubba, all leading down to 2 half pipes with a channel in-between at the bottom of the hill. The event was rad as hell, music playing, people cheering, and skaters ripping up the streets.

Other than the obvious skating, I also wanted to get some rad candids of people since it was really busy. There was a wide variety of people there so it was really fun trying to pick out people that I found interesting. Here's some candids that I took

Avo Fest

Today we have a very special post, my first proper attempt at mosh pit photography. This has always been a type of concert photography that I've always wanted to do and get into but was always too scared or just didn't know when there would be a show. But this year I knew where to go, The Carpinteria Annual Avocado Festival. This family friendly event is home to one of the most surprising free concerts that I love going to. The band that played is called "The Upbeat" and they are a favorite ska band of mine, the energy that they bring and the energy of the crowd is insane. So I came equipped with my Nikon 1 J1 with a 3D printed grip and an adapted 6mm security camera lens to take the pictures. Film Dump #5

Welcome to the 5th film dump! This dump is from a couple days. First off would be a disc golf day with my family up in the bay area. We went to Kelly Park for the day to play a full round of disc golf. It was a nice bright day and there was a range on the course where I was able to throw one of my discs about 300 ft, which is pretty good for me at the time. I was equipped with my cousin's Minolta X700 and a roll of Kodak GT800 from a disposable camera. The light meter on the X700 was a bit faulty due to low battery so everything was manual exposure, which I think worked out pretty well. Film Dump #3

 So for today's film dump consists of 2 different cameras. My super awesome and trusty Nikon N80, and a camera I don't have anymore, the Nikkormat FT2. Both days were just phot walk days with my friend Jakob Hammer. Shot some "street" and some other variety stuff. Fist off I'll show off the N80 pictures. I haven't used this camera in a while so I didn't expose some of the pictures properly, they are a bit under exposed but they do have a bit of a spooky look to them which I do really like.
