Film Dump # 2

Time for film dump #2! These are both film stocks that I've never used before and I was really excited to see how they were going to turn out. I shot a roll of Kodak GT800, which is a film stock primarily found in Kodak Disposable cameras, and I shot a roll of Fujifilm Acros 100II, which is a black and white film stock.

For the GT800 I decided to go on a photowalk downtown in the evening with my homie Jakob while using my Nikon FG. Mainly just to test out this higher speed film since I haven't really shot anything over 800 ISO on film. They honestly turned out pretty well. Some pictures are a bit blurry, but that comes with me being a bit impatient and shaky when it came to getting my exposure. Overall though I was really happy with what I was able to get out of the 27 exposure roll.

For the second new roll of film I shot, I shot Fujifilm Acros 100II on my Nikon FG. I have never heard off this film stock before and I was pretty excited to see 2 rolls of it at my local camera and film lab Dexter's Camera in Ventura, CA. I was pretty excited to see how they were going to turn out. I shot one roll in Santa Barbara, CA and the other roll in San Luis Obispo / Morro Bay, CA, those pictures will come eventually. I'm pretty happy with how this roll turned out, I shot half of it during a pretty overcast day and the other half on a very sunny and bright day. Both days turned out really well. There are some imperfections on my part with certain exposures being blurry, but that happens. Overall, very happy with what I got!

There's Goo Everywhere

So it's been a while since I last uploaded anything onto this blog, but I feel like I should continue on with this thing that I started. I guess now's a good time as any to start up again. This week we went to a local punk show hosted by local band Goo Spot, along with a newer band Corporate America. Set up at a newer bar called Union in the middle of downtown Santa Barbara.  Here is a full library of what I shot The crowd was so energetic, all these kids amped up to hear the local favorites, or even new favorites, tear up the place with that fast and loud sound. Pits opened up, they were moshing, skanking, slam dancing, jumping off a barrel, It was a great time. The show was fun time, and talking to everyone and getting all these photos was an even better of a time. With the opening of Union in Santa Barbara, I hope that the grassroots music scene of Santa Barbara will continue to thrive.

Avo Fest Molcajete

Another Avo Fest in the books. This year was a lot of fun, the moment The Upbeat started playing the crowd lit up. The amount of crowd surfing was insane for a local avocado festival, but it's an Upbeat show so I shouldn't be surprised.  It was the 40th year of The Upbeat so this show was pretty special, and that's probably why the crowed was way more lively than last year. They played some classic songs from their discography like, "Farmah Man", "17 @ 17", "Sitting on Capital Hill", and my favorite "Olde Towne". If you've never listened to them before, you should definitely give them a listen, some of the best Ska you'll hear. Anyways, lets get to the photos. I was on the outskirts of the mosh pit at all times so I had to shelter my camera from getting bumped into for the entire show. This wasn't the biggest issue since I was using a cheap lens I like and a cheap flash. Nevertheless I was able to get 18 photos that I am h...

There's Goo Everywhere Again

We got another Goo Spot show! Held at the Carpinteria Skate Park, we had a full day of music, 5 bands played. Wren Hunt, Ding Mao, Beau James Wilding, Goo Spot, and Nardcore OG's Dr. Know ripped up the Carp Skate Park.  I do apologize for the lack in variety of photos I've captured though, with how wide my lens is, and the harsh backlighting, I found it pretty difficult to get some inspiring shots. But nonetheless, here's a full gallery of Goo Spot's set plus 2 shots from the Dr. Know set As always it's been a blast taking all these pictures, I hope I'll have some more pictures to share soon!
